We are delighted to announce that after an in-depth certification and review process Olsights is now officially a BCorp company. We’re excited to join a community of like minded businesses and leaders in a global movement of using business as a force for good.

“As a start-up we wanted to build a strong ethical business from the beginning and the BCorp principles aligned well with our ideals so was an excellent basis to develop in the right way from the start.” – Rosie Griffiths Olsights CCO

With B Impact Score of 99.1 Olsights demonstrated a strong commitment to our community, environment, employees, associates, suppliers and customers. For comparison, a score of 80 Qualifies for B Corp Certification, and 50.9 is the Median Score for Ordinary Businesses. Find out more about the rigorous standards process for B-Corp here.

As a BCorp Olsights joins one of only ~1500 companies in the UK (and 6000 companies worldwide across 158 industries in 89 countries). We’re excited to meet, learn and continue to grow with our fellow BCorps.

What is BCorp?

Here’s the definition provided by B Lab:

“Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. B Corps are accelerating a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.”

An analogy that is commonly used is that B Corp Certification is to business what Fair Trade certification is to coffee. In short, B Corps are companies that undergo a rigorous certification process to improve their social and environmental performance. They don’t just say that they’re good businesses or socially responsible businesses, as so many other businesses do, they actually use business as a force for good. Unlike traditional corporations that give priority only to financial profitability, B Corps look at the triple bottom line and use the power of business to address social and environmental problems.

B Corps work towards business being part of the solution, rather than part of the problem.
