Contracts for Difference

In September 2024, the sixth Allocation Round (AR6) of the UK renewables Contracts for Difference (CfD) competition results were announced.  AR6 brought an increase in almost 10GW of CfD-supported renewables capacity, with strike prices ranging from ~£48 – 190/MWh depending on the technology type.  

Much has already been written about this Allocation Round, and this interactive visual dashboard across all six CfD rounds serves to aid understanding of which technologies are being supported, which Developers are winning, and how the various rounds / capacities / strike capacities compare against each other.
